Sunday 31st December Cartagena and a fun run!

Well today started slowly I had to get out of my Hotel because I had only booked 2 nights and because the place was so good wanted to stay 2 more days but hotel was full. So got an airbnb round the corner, but tried to book in at 12, the 2 and did eventually get it. It was ok, big apartment on first floor but had to park 1/4 of a mile away. But hey sorted.

Went back to get bike off car as I can put that in apartment and met a load of boys about to do a fun run. I just happened to get mixed up in it trying to find somewhere to eat today.

The day started off misty. 

My I parked next to you fun run buddies. 

 I met them at the start!

Saw them run off. 

 Cycled round the harbour as the sun was setting.

I could be a whale or a huge mustache in the harbour. 

This unmarked boat was interesting it looked like a sail boat, but was huge. It was also in a military boatyard.

Got up late as usual, walked over to the building over the road and bought a ticket to 5 of the Ancient  places to see.

Well the first place was amazing part of the oldest dual walls of the city, and inside one part was an old crypt, complete with the remains of boxes and the skeletons of the people who were In them.

Down I  the crypt which was between the twin walls of the old town battlements they had paintings of skeletons.

Some of the crypts had been opened a day you could see parts of the wooden caskets they would of interred the remains in.

Stairway down to the crypt, as you put your hand on the stone rail you wondered how many people had done that. 

One of the crypts even had the skull just lying there. 

Walking round to the Castle of Conception bumped into this jet again.

Built in the 1800's but now found out to have been built on to of a Roman Colosseum

They have started to excavate but it will mean destroying the old bullring structure..

My ticket gave me a free ride in this escalator to the Castle
